Wow, it's early in the morning for me to be posting... the kids are back to school so my routine is changing. These cards are from the new set by Flourishes, Peace On Earth. It is so gorgeous! The designer, Joan Machinchick, is a well known calligrapher in the Washington, D.C. and Maryland area and a friend of Jan's.
The other two sets, Fantasy Floral Garden (one of the prettiest flower sets I've ever seen) and O' Christmas Tree (just as delightful!) are up on the website as well and I will be posting samples of them later in the week.
The patterned paper used on the first card is a recent release by My Mind's Eye and the lavender gem stones are by Hero Arts. The punch is a Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval.
For the second card, I wanted to highlight the beautiful shimmery red paper which is part of the Combo Kit for the Peace On Earth and O' Chistmas Tree sets. I stamped the Peace image onto a transparency with white Staz On and then sponged the Staz On around the edge. I added the brads by Lasting Impressions to hold the transparency onto the card and did a little trick I learned to seal the edges down. Where the edges are sponged with white, you can add a little Craft Bond by K & Company (which is white) with a toothpick and seal the corners. It did spread a little, but I just wiped the excess away.
This card also looks gorgeous with the blue shimmery paper in the combo kit and is very easy to mass produce.

Tracy, I like the effect of the transparency on the shimmery red card! You've got that interesting white border set into the card and the transparency held down at the same time. Brilliant! I love the first card, too, with the pretty paper and gems. Very nice!
