It's been a while since I posted anything. I was in a crafty rut from being so sick. I had zero inspiration and zero drive. Thank goodness for our elementary celebrating teachers this week! It was just what I needed to get me into paper-crafting again.
The first thing I did was select what stamps to use. I think the classic images like apples, pencils, note paper, etc. are so fun to use for teacher cards. I don't have a huge selection, but I was able to find an apple in this Unity set -
It's called Mix Up of Cuteness and I think I got it when it first came out.
The second thing I did was search out sketches and challenges on the internet. This is what I decided to work with -
The inspiration for the sketch was amazing and it seemed like a layout I could easily work with.
My next step was to peruse my card making kits for some papers. This is what I selected -
I thought they worked well with the sketch and theme.
They are from my February Kit (paper add-on) by CupCards {to go}. The solid red and green is the reverse side of the numbers and polka dots.
You can also see from the picture that I decided to do some paper piecing again. I thought it would be easier to leave the seed image out, but then added some colored pencil to give the apple a little more depth -
I hope you liked my post today. It felt good to pull out the camera and shoot some pictures this morning. It helped that it's a beautiful sunny day :)
Take care!
